Downdraft table

I recently built a woodworking downdraft table for i3 Detroit. basically the way it works is you hook up the dust collector to a port on the side of the table and then you put your piece on top that you want to sand or use a dremel or router or anything that will make a lot of dust. The table has a downdraft that pulls the dust down inside the table and then out into the dust collector, greatly reducing the amount of dust that comes off of the piece.

Rusted metal sculpture

This was a metal sculpture I made to hang up in my living room at home. I started by taking a large plate of 3/8th inch thick steel and drawing my lines of where I wanted to make the cuts, I then separated the panels with round stock spacers that I welded into place. I then made an oxidizing solution to spray onto the panel to aggressively rust it, after this was dried I melted and poured pewter onto the piece following my lines and finally I clear coated the whole thing to keep the rust in place.
